We are pleased to have sourced replica pendant light fittings as Mackintosh designed for the Library in the Glasgow School of Art. These light fittings come in two styles and two finishes - silver and gun metal finish as a pendant and a wall light fitting. There are various colour ways that can be inserted to tone with a customers decor. These are Magenta (pink) Blue, & Silver we provide different coloured panels as required.

These Mackintosh lights come with a provenance certificate from the Glasgow School of Art to verify that they are replicas of the originals that hang in the School of art library in Glasgow. There is also a wall light fitting in the same style to match the pendant fitting.

When Mackintosh designed The Glasgow School of Art his brief was that the lighting should use the relatively modern source of electricty, giving Mackintosh new scope when it came to designing the light fittings. It was usual for the naked bulb to be shown , however Mackintosh reversed this trend by using the shade to direct light wherever he choose and illiuminating the tables below. There are thirteen such light fittings in the library hanging centrally and are geometric in design. It is often said that these lamps resemble a New York skyline.

We have used them in our showroom to great effect, so much so that customers think they are stained glass panels! You can even create your own Mackintosh Mirror!

You apply to a clean surface and they are durable enough to be taken off and repositioned after the cleaning of the glass. The size varies according to the pattern, but several colours are available and look absolutely fantastic!
